Soloists

Elowen Schmidt

Elowen Schmidt, Cello Soloist (Lamb of God), is honored to be the principal cellist of the Draper Philharmonic and soloist for this inspirational work. Elowen trained with Sarah Arnesen Marshall and has played in many ensembles. In 2021, she placed second in the Brimhall Concerto Competition playing the Haydn Cello Concerto No. 1. Currently, she is studying Cello at Snow College on a music scholarship and has her own growing studio. Elowen resides in Manti and loves all things music, including playing the piano and singing harmony with her sister.


Will Perkins

Will Perkins, Joseph (King of Kings) and Peter (Lamb of God), is a diverse performer who has enjoyed singing lead roles in opera, operetta, and musical theater.  A Utah native, he now teaches Voice and Opera at Middle Tennessee State University.  In 2017 he played ‘Jinx’ in Forever Plaid at Hale Sandy; and has performed the role of ‘Peter’ in Lamb of God with the Davis Interfaith Choir & Symphony three times.  Will is also a director of the BYU Broadway Bootcamp – a two-week summer intensive for high school students.


Serena Mackerell

Serena Mackerell, Mary (King of Kings) and Martha (Lamb of God), is honored to be a part of this production and to reprise these roles. She has sung with Utah Opera, Utah Symphony, and Lyrical Opera. She served as Mrs. Utah, providing support to the infertility community with her foundation, Footsteps for Fertility. Serena is a 3x NATS (National Association of Teachers of Singing) champion and has appeared in title roles such as ‘Fiona’ in Brigadoon, ‘Nanetta’ in Falstaff, ‘Irene’ in Crazy for You, ‘Tanya’ in Mamma Mia and others. But her favorite roles are wife to Travis and mother to their triplets!


Dustin Halliday

Dustin Halliday, Gabriel, Jacob, Wise Man 2 (King of Kings) and John (Lamb of God), has been featured as a soloist in several concerts of the Draper Philharmonic & Choral Society, notably singing “Bring Him Home” from Les Miserables and “All I Ask of You” from Phantom of the Opera in their Broadway concerts. Previously, he performed with the Utah Baroque Ensemble for many years, touring England and Italy. Dustin resides in Riverton with his wife, Julia, and their three children.  He is so grateful for the gift of music and the impact it has in all of our lives.


Kimberly Robbins

Kimberly Robbins, Elisabeth (King of Kings) and Mother Mary (Lamb of God), is a performer, private voice instructor, acting coach, and music director. She has performed with several professional and community theater companies. Recent roles include ‘Polly Baker’ in Crazy for You and ‘Millie’ in Thoroughly Modern Millie. She is happy to now reprise two roles in this production. Kimberly studied Classical and CCM Voice at Utah State University under the direction of Cindy Dewey. She has performed all over the USA, Italy, England, and the Philippines.


Neil Wyatt

Neil Wyatt, Wise Man 1 (King of Kings) and Thomas (Lamb of God), has been singing since he was old enough to talk. He has sung in various choirs throughout his life, including six years with the Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square. Neil studied Music with an emphasis in Vocal Performance at Weber State and was privileged to perform lead roles in several operas while there, including Madame Butterfly and La Bohème. Neil is excited to again be a part of this production with the Draper Philharmonic & Choral Society.


Valaura Arnold

Valaura Arnold, Mary Magdalene (Lamb of God), is praised as a “power vocalist.” She is accomplished in diverse genres, including Opera, Musical Theatre, Country, Pop, and Big Band. She appears regularly as a soloist for symphonies and Big Bands throughout the U.S. and has toured internationally. She is also a much sought after studio musician and has released several CDs. She holds both BA and MA degrees in Vocal Performance from the University of Utah and has thoroughly enjoyed singing as a member of the Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square.


St. John Maxwell Holloway

St. John Maxwell Holloway, Herod (King of Kings) and Pilate (Lamb of God), was born in South Africa and was later fortunate enough to study in the vocal program at Brigham Young University. He was featured singing “Empty Chairs at Empty Tables” in the Draper Philharmonic & Choral Society’s production of A Night on Broadway. With his strong bass voice and commanding presence, St. John (pronounced “Sin-Jin”) has often been cast in roles of powerful men. He is honored to reprise the roles of ‘Herod’ and ‘Pilate’ in this production.


Mindy Taylor

Mindy Taylor, Anna (King of Kings), is excited to be a part of this production! Mindy studied vocal performance at the University of Houston (TX), Moore's School of Music. Favorite past roles include ‘Sandra Bloom’ in Big Fish, ‘Maria’ in The Sound of Music, and ‘Lucy Mack’ in Joseph Smith, The Prophet. Mindy is the Founder/Director of Oquirrh Mountain Youth Theater (www.omyt.org) and CounterPoint Show Choir (www.counterpointshowchoir.com). Her favorite musicals occur at home with her handsome husband Scott and their children.


Michael Ingols

Michael Ingols, Wise Man 3, Roman Soldier (King of Kings) and Accuser (Lamb of God), is excited to be part of this production. Michael grew up in California, performing in choirs and in church and school productions. He toured internationally with the BYU International Folk Dance Ensemble and later sang with the Boise State Institute Choir. Since returning to Utah, Michael has sung with Utah Chamber Artists and Salt Lake Vocal Artists and was blessed to sing with them for audiences around the world.


Kim Buchanan

Kim Buchanan, Mary of Bethany (Lamb of God), has always loved music and performing. She has sung in several choirs and currently sings in Voices8, an a cappella double quartet, and in the Draper Philharmonic & Choral Society along with her husband Shawn. Some of her favorite roles in musical theater productions have included ‘Maria’ in The Sound of Music, ‘Lady Thiang’ in The King and I, and ‘Laurie’ in Oklahoma! However, her absolute favorite role is that of ‘Mom’ to her amazing children and ‘Mimi’ to her two sweet little dudes!


Curtis Morley

Curtis Morley, Simeon, Herod’s Counselor (King of Kings) and Judas (Lamb of God), has been performing since he was a child. During his college years, Curtis performed professionally with an A cappella group he co-founded. He currently performs with the Millennial Choir and Orchestra. Curtis has the #2 most-watched music video on Christian Covers Official YouTube Channel. He has been featured on Christian Radio and highlighted on GodTube.com for his Christian music. Curtis has a passion for singing, playing guitar, and songwriting. He is the father of five and loves running, skiing, cycling, and doing triathlons. 


Jannalee Hunsaker

Jannalee Hunsaker, Damsel (Lamb of God), is ecstatic to be performing with the Draper Philharmonic and Choral Society.  At a very young age, she began performing on stage, singing and doing musical theatre, and was the Musical Director for Seussical, Big the Musical, Annie, and Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. She has performed all over Utah and jumped at the chance to join the Society and perform again! She is incredibly grateful to her husband for his constant support as she chases her dreams. 


Tara Jean Harris

Tara Jean Harris, Maid (Lamb of God), has been dancing, singing and playing the piano from a young age.  She has enjoyed a career in teaching young artists in these same fields since she was 15. She is so excited to be playing the role of ‘Maid’ for the third time! Another favorite recent role has been ‘Mrs. Cratchit’ in A Christmas Carol. She sends her special thanks to her ever supportive family and her biggest fan, best friend, and husband, Ben!


David Topham

David Topham, False Witness (Lamb of God), has enjoyed singular performances as a tenor soloist in Handel’s Messiah and in various musicals and quartets. While the soon-to-be-famed Osmond family was performing at various gatherings in the 1970s, David was part of a slightly less-celebrated singing family called ‘The Many Land Singers.’ Although the parallels to the Osmonds’ success ends there, David feels truly blessed to be able to sing in many lands and to combine his love of singing and travel with his love of Jesus Christ. A graduate of the University of Utah, David and his wife Victoria have 6 children and 3 grandchildren.


Julie Randall

Julie Randall, Narrator (King of Kings & Lamb of God), graduated Summa Cum Laude from USU, taught middle school math and enjoys writing. She grew up performing in The Nutcracker as a ballet dancer and in many singing and dancing groups. She has served as president of several volunteer organizations, including a branch of the AMA (American Medical Association) Alliance. Julie loves to be involved in church and community service, but her favorite thing is to be with her husband Ben, and together teach, love, and cheer for their 10 children, ages 1-19.


Kent Davis

Kent Davis, Narrator (King of Kings & Lamb of God), is making his second appearance with the Draper Philharmonic & Choral Society. He has also previously narrated Rob Gardner’s works Lamb of God and He is Jesus Christ with other groups. Kent is thankful for his wife Erin, their 5 children and spouses, and 17 rambunctious grandchildren.  Most importantly, he is thankful for his Heavenly Parents and for his Savior, Jesus Christ, the King of Kings.


Jack Barlow

Jack Barlow, Boy Jesus (King of Kings), loves being outside, playing with his two younger brothers, and zooming anything with wheels or an engine. He loves listening to audiobooks and telling stories . . .  especially when it’s past his bedtime. Jack is very excited to reprise the role of the Savior as a young boy, and he wants everyone to know how much he loves Jesus.


Steve Nielsen

Steve Nielsen, Father of Joseph & Shepherd (King of Kings) and Disciple (Lamb of God), is an actor who is working on several small independent films. He has appeared in the roles of ‘Ceceli’s Dad’ in the film Nine Days, the ‘Lead Baker’ in The Endless Loaf, and ‘Dad’ in Slug Bug. Steve is also a Certified Public Accountant, speaks Spanish and Portuguese, and teaches English as a second language.


Sharon Diane Nielsen

Sharon Diane Nielsen, Shepherd (King of Kings) and Disciple (Lamb of God), grew up in Texas and attended L.B. Johnson High School where she sang in both the Concert Choir and the Madrigal Choir and participated in a musical theater production of Damn Yankees. Sharon attended both Dixie College and Utah State University and sang in their Concert and Chamber choirs. Now she occasionally sings solos but mostly enjoys singing in her church choir.


Brandon James Nielsen

Brandon James Nielsen, Shepherd (King of Kings) and Disciple (Lamb of God) attended Hillcrest High School in Sandy, Utah, where he enjoyed being part of student life and encouraging others in their talents by participating in Link Crew. He has worked alongside his father in movie productions as a production assistant and an occasional ‘extra.’ He has sung in his church choir and was privileged to sing in the Conference Center at Temple Square.


Kaeleb Hunt

Kaeleb Hunt, Father of Joseph & Shepherd (King of Kings) and Disciple (Lamb of God), is a family man, a father of three (and one cat), and engaged to his sweetheart, Kirsten. He has performed in Shakespeare, Rodgers & Hammerstein, and local original productions. He has also performed 'The Star Spangled Banner' at sporting events, as well as traditional Irish folk songs at funerals. Kaeleb grew up singing in church and last year trained in opera with Jin-Xiang Yu. His goal is to pursue music full time and leave the construction field.
